LotRO's Character Transfers Have Crossed The 1 Million Mark

To say the Lord of the Rings Online Transfer Wizard has been overloaded is an understatement. We now have something of an inkling of just how overloaded it is as the MMO's executive producer announced that the wizard has handled over one million character transfers.

The information comes via EP Rob Ciccolini on the official LotRO Discord, where the team has been sharing updates on queue status, answering questions, and just providing as much as info as they can to assuage the frustrations of the fanbase.

Ciccolini said earlier this week that he underestimated the amount of people who would want to immediately transfer off the 64 bit servers, and we know have a number to put next to that. Over one million characters have been transferred since they opened Tuesday last week. It should be noted that this doesn't mean one million players have transffered as LotRO players are known for having many, many alts. But it's still a mindnumber number, especially for an MMO heading into its 18 year anniversary next month.

"We have now transferred over 1 million characters since transfer opened," Ciccolini announced late last night. "This [is] much higher than anticipated."

Today also saw the long-awaited patch 43.1, which reverts to the old deed log after the revamp was causing game crashing issues, as well as the Spring Festival. However, if you're looking for the Tier 2 version of the Temple of Utug-bur raid, that'll be hitting the servers next week.

For those who are still stuck in the transfer queue, make sure you're on the Discord server, as regular updates are being pinned in the 64-Bit transfer chat channel. As of this morning, the queue is estimated to be caught up to transfers initiated on Sunday morning pacific time.
