Lord of the Rings Online’s latest update sees the return of an event, more character slots for paying players, and more.

To make sure character limits aren’t hit in the upcoming 64-bit worlds, VIP and premium accounts will be entitled to more characters. Each will get five, bringing VIP up to 12 and premium up to 10. However, counts for free accounts and Monster Play characters won’t be changed.

The Ill Omens Event makes a return starting on Thursday, January 30, until February 19 at midnight PST. As players skirmish against Harbingers of the Dead again, there’ll be new Portents this time around for players with the 150 level cap

As for other gameplay, there’ll be a bit less grind for certain rewards, as Lothlorien items will have lower bartering threshold in order to make them more accessible.

“Since players now experience Lothlorien for shorter periods than when it originally released, it can be hard to collect enough branches and leaves before Lothlorien is no longer relevant for their characters,” this note reads. “This change should make many Lothlorien rewards more attainable for players experiencing this zone at level 60.”

There are also a ton of balance changes and bug fixes for many instances, plus other fixes throughout LOTRO. Plus, the notes point out that Angmar and Mordor will advance to level cap 65 starting on April 30.
