If you’ve ever wanted to be a magical girl (or boy) in a high-fantasy MMORPG, Lost Ark is your latest chance for it. The Magickal Enchanter Collection, exclusive to Western Lost Ark players, dropped as part of its “Chaos Rising” May Update.
In a Q&A sent as part of a press release, the Smilegate team answered some questions about the collection and their inspirations (though it’s unclear exactly who answered what). Throughout this Q&A, the team pointed towards the various elements from costumes in Sailor Moon and other 80s/90s media of similar nature for the ladies, and the shapes of modern superhero suits, such as Black Panther’s, for the gentlemen. Plus, there’s also a broom that devs say were directly inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service.
Some of the skins and in-game emoticons in the drop include winners from a contest for the Helgaia Pets rework.
The team announced it’s planning to give skins away on its official Discord, Reddit, and Twitter channels in the future, though we don’t have specifics on that yet. The team will also continue to put out Western-exclusive skins, including in collaboration with Amazon Games.
The update also includes a new Raid, the Music Box of Memories II, and other content updates, as well as quality-of-life changes to the game.
