Lost Ark’s January update is coming next week. If you need some time to prepare for the arrival of the Brelshaza Kazeros Raid Act 2, the latest dev update has what you need to know and more of what’s on the way.
It's a pretty big update, because in addition to the next big challenging raid, it also adds two brand new systems. The Karma system is a new progression system. As you progress your karma you'll be able to earn combat stats and some ArK Passive effects. Ark Passive updates are coming in February, along with the Wild Soul class.
If you beat the new raid and defeat Brelshaza, you'll unlock the Karma system. Right away, you’ll have to make a choice as to which upgrade you prefer, and that will be what you progress until reaching the goal.
The Frontier system is the promised way that raid difficulties will adjust over time. the system that we've been told about before, but now it has a name. Since release, there have been a series of adjustments to raid content and other content from the original Korean version down a bit to make it more doable for Western audiences, and these have been done through a series of patches. Now, this new system is set to essentially run on a clock. If you are competitive and well geared up, and you want to jump in at full difficulty, you have time to do that before the difficulty starts going down.
This will give those who are more casual players or those who aren’t quite so well prepared a chance to complete these raids and have access to new systems as well. If you want to clear the content again, the automatic difficulty adjustments will also make it simpler if you are farming or looking for better drops.
The update will go live on January 22nd and it will introduce the Brelshaza Kazeros Raid and begin the third anniversary event. The actual anniversary is in February, but they are starting the celebrations a little early. The anniversary content will include a new quest, the Balthor raid, and new rewards. In February, closer to the actual anniversary, there will be more releases.
For those curious about Tier 4 BRAC, we will get more details in the update patch notes, set for release on January 21st.
