Lost Ark’s Winter Soloist update is here, introducing the Kazeros Raid Act 2 prologue quest, expanded solo mode raid roster, Elixir system overhaul, events, improvements, and older raid difficulty adjustments.
The update moves things forward a bit with the Kazeros Act 2 prologue, while also working to improve gameplay and make certain content more doable for more players.
The Kazeros Raid Act 2 prologue quest arrives to prepare for next month’s planned new raid, in which you’ll get to battle against Aegir once more, then Narok and an updated Brelshaza. The quest itself will take you into how the Allied Forces’ plans and strategy for the war in North Kurzan.
Solo mode not only adds additional raids, like the Thaemine Legion Raid and Echidna Kazeros Raid, but a new buff system, cost decreases for more rewards, and balance tweaks.
Destined Protections is the new buff system. When you complete certain patterns, Destined Protections apply, and they include new buffs like Death Escaper, which saves you from wipe patterns or other difficult opposition. You can have up to three per gate and they don't carry over to a new gate, so strategize accordingly.
A few changes intend to make some things easier to get done, or at least, make the process less opaque and risky. The Elixir system got some overhauls to make transmutation faster and simplify the process. Similarly, the Transcendence system has also gotten changes to simplify the progression path. There’s also a new Honing Support Material for Advanced Honing to make that more doable as well, increasing Great Success chances too.
Similarly, Tier 2 and 3 Chaos Dungeons get reworks. Kazeros Raid Legion Raid Guardian Raids changes tune down the difficulty and make these easier to complete, particularly for newer and more casual players. This follows the decision to let the competitive hardcore players get a chance at newer content and then later tuning down the difficulty so that more people can complete them. Eventually, these difficulty changes will be happening on a timed schedule, as announced in the recent roadmap update.
There are several events, new shop updates, items, and lots more details on balance and the exact difficulty tuning steps over in the full patch notes.
