March is here, and that means it’s time for the first major update since the big Western launch to Lost Ark. Amazon has released details on what’s coming in the March update, and reiterated their partnership with Smilegate RPG to keep updating the western version steadily.
The March update should begin a steady clip of updates and will include a new story episode with a series of new endgame quests, some new islands, and new cinematics to enjoy. The quests will feature familiar and new characters as you learn a little more about the Sidereals and continue searching for the legendary Kadan. The new story episode is called Kadan, named for the first Guardian slayer, as you search for answers and continue your quest to to find the Ark.
Another addition to the game is a whole new option for endgame: Abyss Raids. These raids are for those who really want a new challenge. Just like any other raids, these will require coordination and collaboration between players. Your goal is to defeat a Guardian in limited time allotted and with a limited number of revives available. Abyss Raids are open to eight players and the Guardians your face will be stronger and more difficult than you’re used to. The raids have three phases, with the Guardians getting more powerful as you go along and introducing new mechanics you’ll have to respond to in order to win.
Each of the three phases will have its own rewards. You can claim them once a week and there will be different item level requirements for players to participate in these raids, so you’ll be able to tailor your strategies and to seek out the rewards that that you want most.
The update will feature additional changes and also a series of bug fixes. You can read the March update preview over on the Lost Ark site. There will be full release notes coming closer to when the announcement on downtime is made.
