Lost Ark is finally getting a druid-like class in its next update, and now we know a bit more about it. The MMORPG has posted a blog outlining the details of the Wildsoul class, which lets players dish out crits by either summoning a beast or becoming one (technically two) themself.
The Wildsoul class is a Specialist Advanced Class with three different forms/identities—the Bear, Fox, and Phantom Beast—each of which has a corresponding “meter.” Players can either choose to transform for one playstyle, or not transform for another, but either is focused on dishing out crits.
Regardless of path, the Lost Ark blog explains there’s a balance between offensive and defensive traits, with a defense reduction debuff for enemies and a 2.1 HP coefficient, plus 100% defense scaling. Plus, there’s crit bonuses built into the class.
If players want a quicker playstyle, they’ll tap into the Phantom Beast, the summoned form, touting higher mobility and lower cooldowns with “near-constant uptime on powerful buffs.” When stacks of the Essence Buff are spent, players can use the Identity Skill to transform for further cooldown reduction and mana recovery. It’s essentially a self-serving loop that lets you keep firing off that buff.
On the other hand, the summoning half lets players transform into the Bear and Fox forms. It’s more burst-focused in the Fox Form, but there’s a little more survivability built in between those bursts with the Bear Form. Meanwhile, a Ferality effect kicks in each transformation, which can be stacked.
On top of these abilities, Lost Ark promises 15 new achievements, a new title, and a new trophy, plus the usual Training Room Guide so players can better understand these abilities.
Per the recent Eye on Arkesia, we’ll see fuller details in upcoming Lost Ark patch notes once they’re ready next week for the February 26 patch. Plus, the patch promises some changes including the regular return of the Mokoko Bootcamp returning player program (until they can make it permanent) and escalating penalties for account boosting.
