On November 15th, Lost Ark gets its latest new class, the Souleater, arriving to offer a new Assassin subclass for those who want to wield a giant scythe, collect enemies’ souls, and even summon the dead.

The Souleater offers three ways to attack your enemies. You can attack directly with your giant scythe, you can summon the dead, or you can use Deathlord mode. If that last one sounds powerful, you’re on the right track.

She has access to two Engravings, and three skill types - Ghast skills, Stygian skills, and Deathlord. Ghast skills are all about striking with a dagger or your scythe, and even throwing or swinging the weapon forcefully. Stygian skills  are focused on summoning the dead. Summon different types of spirits, each with a different purpose or role. This could be a Predator Spirit, which damages enemies and launches them up into the air while you jump and swing your scythe down  to damage and knock them back.

Other types of spirits are good for different purposes. Assaulters  are summoned within 10m of a targeted location and they charge that location, to damage the enemy and knock them up into the air. There are other options too.

Finally, we have to talk about Deathlord. This third option is focused on scythe-based moves that you can enhance greatly through the use of Deathlord Mode.

Deathlord Mode is something the Souleater achieves by filling the Possession Meter with each attack or by earning Soul Stones. Once the meter is full, you can choose to activate Deathlord Mode and use Deathlord skills of your choice three times without using resources. When you use these skills they will be extra brutal and more powerful.

There’s more coming in the update, including quality of life changes and progression events, like Super Mokoko Express to help you level up any new characters, including a Souleater.
