Last year’s action RPG Soulslike release Lords of the Fallen looks to be getting a sequel in the works, via a new deal between CI Games and Epic Games with PC exclusivity in the works.
In a report (shared by PC Gamer), the deal between the two companies is dated June 15th it says that on June 14th, CI Games “signed a binding term sheet with Epic Games Inc. ("Epic") pursuant to which the Company grants Epic the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the sequel of the game "Lords of the Fallen" (working title: Project 3) (the "Game") on the PC platform for the entire product life cycle (the "Binding Term Sheet")”.
Essentially, Epic Games would be the exclusive PC distributor for the in-development Lords of the Fallen sequel. Further in the announcement the subject of console rights are addressed, with those remaining with CI.
With a scheduled release in 2026, this Lords of the Fallen sequel would technically be the third game, which might be why it’s known as “Project 3”. This is just the announcement of the fact that a contract exists between the two companies, with actual distribution details and Publishing information going to be announced sometime in the future. it seems that they haven't even come to those terms just yet as in the report it also says, “The Company and Epic will continue to negotiate a detailed publishing agreement”.
The PC Gamer report points to a potential hint, via trademark application, that the game’s planned title is “Death of the Fallen”, but it’s probably going to be a while before we know any more details other than the fact that a team is working on it and Epic is preparing to be its exclusive PC home.
