The Lord of the Rings Online is ramping up towards the release of its upcoming mini-expansion, Before the Shadow, and one of the first major features to be tested is on the Bullroarer test server as of today.

Before the Shadow will bring with it new zones, a new starting player experience and more, but one of the major features players can dive into will be Delvings. This is a new mechanic which allow players to revamp missions to up the challenge and earn more rewards based on completion. This new system is testable on the Bullroarer server alongside the new player experience coming with LotRO's next content update.

The new player experience on the test server right now is the new starter instance, bringing players Mosswood, the Border Village. The new experience gives another path to level up a new character versus the starting zones that have been in the MMO's world since its creation in 2007 (the exceptions there being the High Elf and Stout Axe Dwarves introduced later).

Finally, The Lord of the Rings Online team is inviting players to test out the new skirmish coming with Before the Shadow, "Doom of Caras Gelebren." The new skirmish will be available for players from level 20 through the level cap and can be done solo up to a full raid.

You can check the full notes on the LotRO forums. The Lord of the Rings Online's upcoming mini-expansion, Before the Shadow, is launching next month, and the team at Standing Stone Games has been ramping up the previews. Recently it showed off the upcoming Cardolan region, as well as Swanfleet before.
