Epic Games' John Wasilczyk has written a new letter on the Paragon site that takes a look back at 2016 and gives a forward look at what the team hopes to add to the game in 2017.
Throughout 2017 Epic will be reworking the matchmaking system from the ground up, implementing balance changes, reworking heroes with new kits and adding more cosmetic items and skins into the game.
Most notably, however, competitive play will begin to roll out early this year though Epic has said "you can't rush competitive play" and is commited to balance hardcore competitive gameplay as well as events and competitions. The team will be revealing more details in the coming months.
