It’s been a busy week for Marvel Snap. Earlier this week, Second Dinner rolled out its new Alliances social feature for the game, along with a number of small balance tweaks, but a new patch released shortly after looks to really shake up Snap’s metagame.

The patch includes wide ranging and significant nerfs for ubiquitous cards such as Loki, Leech, Doctor Octopus, White Widow, and Blob. War Machine and Apocalypse received some small buffs, but otherwise this is a patch where Second Dinner has really brought down the hammer on some of the game’s most widely used cards and decks.

Loki is now a 3/5 from a 4/5, which sounds like a buff, until you realize Second Dinner has significantly altered his functionality from transforming your hand with your opponent’s cards to replacing your deck with theirs and drawing a card.

Leech has been narrowed in application to only affect 6 cost cards.

Doctor Octopus, who has been a turn four terror in Arishem decks the last couple of weeks, was brought down from a 5/10 to a 4/8 and similarly had his effect significantly changed. Instead of pulling four cards into a location, he’ll now only pull a single lowest power card from the opponent’s hand.
