The open beta for Legends of Runeterra has been announced for January 24 during a video from the team.

If you want to pre-register, head over to the official site. The video details what exactly will be available in the open beta. Features during the beta include ranked play which should see similarities to League of Legends, with some tweaks which will let you keep that rank for the remainder of the season the moment you earn it.

Balance updates are also included for ranked play. Additionally, a friend challenge feature will be included allowing you to channel any of your friends, including ALL your LoL friends. The team states this is part of pushing the social aspect of the game.

Three new guardians will be introduced in the beta as well. The cash shop won’t include P2W mechanics, a point which was really stressed by the team. Oh and expansions will be rolled out over the next twelve months.
