When Guild Wars 2 Flashpoint, the next chapter in the Living Story, launches on May 2nd, raiders will be able to score some unique Legendary armor. These special pieces will have a unique look and animation and come complete with rune slots.
The team has made its players a promise: The Legendary armor pieces won't clip with themselves. It's been a journey of moving pieces around "just so" in order to not start clipping with something else. In addition, the unique "silhouette" makes it so that, regardless of race, the armor will suit the character wearing it. You can get a look at Heavy, Medium and Light armor examples on the Guild Wars 2 site.
And let's not forget about runes:
As with legendary weapons, each piece of the legendary armor will let you select its stats from any of those available in the game when you’re out of combat. If you want to use Yassith’s headpiece with Zojja’s tassets and Ahamid’s boots, it’s as simple as clicking on that armor piece and selecting those stats.
When you apply an upgrade (rune or infusion) to a piece of legendary armor and there is already an upgrade in the slot you have selected, the existing upgrade will be moved to your inventory and the new upgrade will replace it. Simple as that.
