Legacy: Steel & Sorcery’s third alpha test is now live, with some changes, new features, class balance tweaks, and more of the Lodge progression systems.
The team announced the alpha, along with some stats, after a big showing at Steam Next Fest, with Legacy’s first big demo at the event. The fantasy PvPvE extraction title was one of the most played games, and interest spiked.
In the alpha, some of the new progression systems make their debut. The Lodge, which is the hub of the system, now features the Cooking Pot, the bed, and redesigned stash containers. To unlock the Cooking Pot, you'll have to pay 100 gold, but once you have it ready you'll combine ingredients to gain a variety of buffs. The bed is a simpler idea because when you go offline you'll now be able to gain rested experience for all characters on your account. As for those stash containers, the system will now let you customize the size of your stash Tab and you'll be able to work to increase their capacity.
This alpha introduces separate toolbelts for weapons and consumables, so they don't take up space in your regular inventory. In the future, the devs are planning to restrict you from bringing other items with you, so your choice of what you put in these two belts will be important. They'll basically be your loadouts.
The full patch notes detail all the changes, including new character creation UI/UX features, Performance tweaks, a region selector for matchmaking, and a number of class balance changes. Most of the classes got some passes, but they tuned the Priest, the Longbow specifically, and made adjustments to the Warrior and Rogue to improve their chances in solo PvE.
Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is still in alpha, so the team does remind everyone that there are things that are not going to work quite right yet. Notorious plans more tests after this one ends next week.
