If you missed it, Notorious Studios’s PvPvE extraction title Legacy: Steel and Sorcery was featured in Steam Next Fest last week, and even got a brand new trailer. The team is now touting the success of the demo, playtesting, and even letting us all know what the top causes of player deaths were during the seven day demo period.

The Legacy: Steel and Sorcery demo was one of the most played of Next Fest, a good indicator of interest in the game. The game was designed with PvP in mind and built up from there, with Notorious Studios’ devs bringing a ton of experience from Blizzard’s top titles, including Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch, so they know a bit about competitive action in a stylized world.

Within the week the demo was live, there were some dedicated killers out there. The number one cause of player deaths? Disconnects. Yep, we've all been there. This particular deadly encounter comes with a note that it could mean an organic disconnect,  but it also includes rage quitting while you're downed. The rest of the list is generally filled with what you would expect, goblins, warriors, hunters, bosses, and then you get down to the bottom of the list. RIP to the unfortunate players who fell out of the world.

Clearly, the game is still under development. Access to the demo ended on October 21st, but the Legacy: Steel and Sorcery team is still recruiting for playtests, and says that more playtests will start going live in a few weeks. You can find more info and sign up over at their site.
