J0nathan, a leaker with a reliable track record when it comes to Assassin’s Creed rumors has shared a new rumor on Twitter/X, suggesting that Far Cry 7 may be announced soon and will star Oppenheimer lead and Best Actor Oscar Winner, Cillian Murphy.
This wouldn’t be the first time Ubisoft has tapped a notable big name actor to play a role in its Far Cry series of open world games. Giancarlo Esposito, best known for playing the villain Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, played the villain in Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6.

Cillian Murphy also has a history of playing villains, such as Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy of Batman films, as well as Jackson Rippner in the lesser known 2005 Wes Craven directed thriller, Red Eye.
Last year, Insider Gaming published a Far Cry 7 report that suggested the game would feature a time limit element where players would need to race against the clock to save their family from a “cult-like organization” before time runs out. This element appears to have been referenced in j0nathan’s leak as well, with an image of a 72 hour countdown clock on a bundle of dynamite.
