David Gaider, principal lead writer on the Dragon Age series and instrumental in the creation of one of the first openly gay characters in gaming, has announced his departure from Bioware after nearly two decades. Gaider started his career on the Baldur's Gate series, worked on Knights of the Old Republic all the way through the Dragon Age series.
Some news: I must sadly announce that, after 17 years, today is my last day at BioWare. I'll miss my team, and wish everyone here the best.— David Gaider (@davidgaider) January 22, 2016
Gaider says he leaves Bioware on good terms and that there is a next venture planned, but that he's not yet ready to reveal what that entails. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.
