The Path of Exile site has been updated with a new Development Manifesto that lays out a number of changes coming to the game to address balance issues and gameplay limitations. The post provides readers with a broad look at incoming changes in the Betrayal content expansion across a number of features including Stat Sticks, Energy Shield Recharge, Cap on Slowing Effects, Unique Rebalance, and Archetypes.
Stat Sticks are being removed:
- You will no longer be able to use skills that require a specific weapon equipped if you are dual-wielding and one of your equipped weapons is unsuitable for that skill.
- Skills that could be used with two weapons, but were main-hand-only when used, now use both weapons when dual wielding.
Energy Shield Recharge will no longer be interrupted "by non-damage changes to your Life or Energy Shield" after extensive testing ton ensure there won't be issues with other builds.
Cap on Slowing Effects is now capped at 75% from all sources.
Unique Rebalance will be an ongoing process over time, though many are being adjusted in time for Betrayal.
Archetypes from 3.5.0 (cold-based DOT spell caster, Hierophant-based caster and the Champion-based melee character will be seeing additional abilities added and others reworked.
