More crash fixes are on the way for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC following its troubled launch earlier this month.
Geurrilla Games has outlined these fixes on Reddit, along with a list of known issues. For example, memory errors, GPU-related hangs, HDR not working, anisotropic filtering not working, and more are listed. However, the developer is aware of the player-compiled lists tracked by users here and here.
This patch, Patch 1.02, contains several crash fixes including:
- Fixed an issue where some players would crash during their first game boot when the ‘game optimization’ screen is active and they ran out of disc space.
- Fixed an issue where some players would crash if they updated their video drivers after the game was already optimized previously.
- Fixed an issue where some players would crash during gameplay because of memory incorrectly being overwritten.
- Fixed an issue where some players would crash during gameplay due to a texture unstreaming bug.
Game improvements include issues related to auto-saving, vsync now properly disabling while in borderless mode, improved syncing on facial animations, and reduced memory usage of shaders.
