A Baldur’s Gate 3 player found themself in a bit of hot water for accidentally posting explicit content, and the developers at Larian Studios are now looking into the matter themselves.
Larians director of publishing, Michael Douse, took notice of the bans taking place from players posting gameplay that happened to have some less than family friendly material, and has stated via X,
“We’ve seen the reports that some players got banned or otherwise faced issues on Xbox having uploaded screenshots/videos of their ‘gameplay content’. We’re in discussion with Microsoft, and we’re looking into it. Annoying and uncool.”
-Michale Douse, Director of Publishing, Larian Studios
With the game becoming one of the largest titles to release in 2023, and winning the Game of the Year award on top of everything, it’s no wonder the devs feel the need to incerpect these bans. While bans can occur when players post things like leaks or spoiler content, it is rare to see something like this happen just due to the content of the gameplay alone.
Fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 can look ahead to the future though, as Larian Studios announced they are planning on releasing a physical copy Deluxe Edition in Q1 2024 for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC.
