MMOCulture is reporting that the Korean version of Nexon's Hyper Universe is shutting down on November 15th after two years in service. The reasons are pretty much what you'd expect: The game didn't gain the footing developers wanted and it was difficult to provide the service to players they expected. This only affects the Korean version with the North American / European version still in live service for the time being.
A quick look at Hyper Universe on Steam Charts, however, paints a dismal picture for the game's future in the West. In the past five months, less than 100 players are online concurrently, and often well below 50. It will remain to be seen how long Nexon keeps the doors open.
