In case you missed it, Kingdoms of Amalur is coming back via a remaster sometime this Summer.
The news was officially announced via Twitter earlier, with the remaster called Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning,
“The rumours are true! Prepare for a Re-Reckoning, because Kingdoms of Amalur is coming back. Remastered with stunning visuals and refined gameplay, it's soon time to experience an epic RPG journey and all its DLCs like never before.”
You can join the official Discord server, but right now, there isn’t much extra information in there apart from the usual, “Please give us a few days to get our bearings fully and there will be plenty to show during the upcoming weeks/months.” messaging.
The remaster was actually heavily rumored and in fact leaked. Polygon reached out for comment when the a leak appeared on the Windows Store with Florian Emmerich, Head of Public Relations for publisher THQ Nordic, providing the following,
“Yes, it’s true and accurate. The news was not supposed to go out yet, which can be summarised as ‘oopsy daisy’ on our end. We hope people are still looking forward to playing Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning in Summer.”
It looks like you can already pre-order a PS4 version on Amazon, in addition to a PC version also on Amazon. The game listings provide an August 18 release date, but this is not confirmed at this time.
