The Conan Exiles site has been updated with a new post that details the importance of lore in the game. The world is crafted around the literary works of Robert E. Howard, a world, the post says, that can offer players "an intensely rich universe full of great deeds, dark magic and high adventure". Conan Exiles takes that vision and is inspired by the events between a pair of stories written in the 30s ("Xuthal of the Dusk" and "A Witch Shall be Born").
Players have mysteries to unfold along the journey to survive, most notably who place a serpent bracelet on their wrist and why. Along they way, various groups will be encountered including the Dogs of the Desert, the Darfari cannibals, The Black Hand pirates and many others.
Exploration will be key to uncovering the lore. Deep caves and massive ruins are there to provide information about ancient secrets and cultures. Clues can be uncovered, knowledge will be gained while fighting off monsters, creatures and other fellow travelers.
