Kakao Games is currently holding a community survey to gauge interest in a Fresh Start server for ArcheAge. This follows the Fresh Start servers that ArcheAge: Unchained opened up back in September, and the team is looking for a couple of rounds of community feedback on the idea and potential criteria.
The survey opened up yesterday and will be available for a week. According to Kakao’s official post on the subject, they lay out some of the potential circumstances that a new Fresh Start server would see if it came to pass. Since there are differences between ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained, one of the things they’re thinking about is how to make Fresh Start not only stand out as distinct for ArcheAge, but on how to arrange the variety of changes and bonuses that generally come with fresh start. According to the announcement,
“We’re looking to make adjustments to the specifications in order to offer something new. In addition to extensive boosts to enable you to progress efficiently, the core focus would be on the conflict between Nuia and Haranya. So, to make this possible, the Pirate faction would be disabled”.
While the in-game survey will be around for one week, they look to be going ahead and are mostly working out the details. Gauging interest is important, but Kakao says that they’ll release more details over the coming weeks on what they are considering in order to get the next stages of community feedback before they finalize anything and make an official announcement.
Fresh Start servers are not a new concept, but they’re definitely having a moment, with New World opening theirs on November 2nd, ArcheAge: Unchained, RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, World of Warcraft, and more already running or having announced new editions.
