The monthly “Eterra Monthly” newsletter has come out for Last Epoch, covering December 2024 and with little previews into the future of the game by way of the forum. As usual, there’s a lot of good stuff for Last Epoch players, so we’ll cut to the meat of it.

The newsletter starts off with a recap of what’s to come in Last Epoch, as laid out in their “Season 2 and Beyond” post, with a “recounting” by a mysterious reporter who says to travel the lands. In short, there are improvements to Monolith of Fates and Dungeons, as well as Tombs and Cemeteries, the Weaver Faction Tree, and more endgame bosses to tackle. There’ll also be some endgame crafting to take on for those interested in economy gameplay.

In addition, there are a few more quality of life changes coming. For those who are sick of asking for taxis to the Bazaar and Observatory, there will be “Waypoint Unlocks” for these points of interest, but they won’t let you get back to Maj’Elka, so you can’t just override the campaign unlocking process. Controller targeting will also be improved, with some logic implemented for specific skills and goals.

Bug squashing ever endures, and on top of the lengthy list of bugs fixed during the month, the team has unveiled a new “Report A Bug” screen coming in Season 2. Players will be able to quickly open the screen by default key F8, and a screenshot feature with a preview will be added.

Mike is back, as always, with a few teasers of a mob and some nodes, too, and there’s an informative interview with a Senior Technical Game Designer who got his start by posting about Diablo 2 game systems. The full piece has little community tidbits that seem fun if you’re into, well, the community.
