Japanese Action MMORPG 'CosmicBreak Universal' Heading to Steam

Some time in 2020

By Poorna Shankar on July 14, 2020 | News | 0

CosmicBreak, the F2P MMORPG first released in 2008, is set to receive a remake, coming soon to Steam.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, CosmicBreak is an action MMORPG in which players can control, customize, and battle with their very own robot. It was first released in Japan in 2008.

The remake, called CosmicBreak Universal, is set to receive several optimizations and improvements. These include launching with a curated offering of robots and humanoids, while certain end-game content like the Core Tuning System and the Drive System will be unavailable until a later date. Such content will only be re-implemented into the game after significant adjustments have been made to them.

Additionally, as noted by the accompanying press release, numerous improvements have been made towards overall game balance and usability, including the simplification of status ailments, and individual adjustments to weapons and more. An example includes the Power stat. The Power stat on projectile weapons with a lengthy charge time will now be dramatically increased, and projectile speed across all weapons will be adjusted to prevent extreme outliers.

The remake will be made available to all existing players. While we don’t have a date for the release, it’s set to launch on Steam some time in 2020.
