Courtesy of our friends over at MechKeys, we’re received word that popular Chinese peripheral brand, JAMESDONKEY has released its latest mechanical keyboard, and it may just be its best yet. The new RS2 features a compact full-size layout, gasket mounting, PBT keycaps, and more for only $79.

JAMESDONKEY is one of the leading peripheral brands in China. Though its name may not ring any bells if you live in the US, international readers may have certainly heard of or used one of their products. Founded in 2014, the company focuses exclusively on peripherals. It also has what appears to be an ongoing mission of delivering enthusiast features at an affordable price.

Despite its affordable price, the RS2 defintely punches up and delivers features above its weight class. It’s full-size layout is uncommon but definitely nice to see for those games that require a number pad (or if you want to use it for macros). The gasket mount implementation should also make the keyboard feel soft to type on. The doubleshot PBT keycaps are another nice addition, as are the addition of smooth Gateron G Pro switches which sound and feel great out of the box, no modding required.

The keyboard has some other tricks up its sleeve too. It offers tri-mode connectivity, so you can plug it in or use a gaming-grade 2.4GHz dongle for wireless operation. If you work on a tablet, the RS2 can connect there too thanks to its Bluetooth radios. There’s per-key RGB and hot-swappable switches, too, so the customization options are plentiful.
