You may remember that one of our biggest stories yesterday was the firing of an Old School Runescape employee, Jed "Mod Jed" Sanderson, after improprieties in his behavior were discovered. As a result of his actions and Jagex's promise to pursue legal charges against him, players were concerned that financial and personal data was stolen. However, in a new statement today, Jagex reassures its players that no account or financial data was compromised due to Sanderson's activities.

Further to yesterday’s announcement, we can confirm that none of our players’ bank or card details were compromised. We work with an industry-respected, fully compliant third-party payment processor, to purposefully avoid staff having access to players’ full bank or card details. This also applies when players choose to save their details at payment stage for any future purchases. Jagex undergoes regular, third-party testing to ensure we maintain the highest security standards.
