It seems that Cliff Bleszinski is on the warpath. Last Friday, he sent out a targeted tweet accusing Epic of trying to poach his BossKey staff. "Hey @epicgames, could you please stop trying to hire away my team? We just launched @Radical_Heights on #UE4 and are really happy with how it's going" he wrote. Responding to his own tweet, he further said, "There's room at this genre (sic) for more than a few games SMH".
Culling through Blesinski's feed doesn't reveal who or how many employees have been approached by Epic or if anyone has actually left BossKey. Epic has not responded to Blesinski's challenge.
Blesinski is a former Epic employee who left in 2012 to form BossKey that later released LawBreakers that never amounted to much and was poorly received by players. However, their new game, Radical Heights, while very early in development, seems to be pretty well-received by the battle royale community. How it will fare over the long term remains to be seen.
You may remember that Arjan Brussee left BossKey in late 2017 to returned to Epic to work on a secret project.
We'll keep you posted if the story develops further!
