Intel Atom: Your Favorite MMO in Your Pocket

The Consumer Electronics Show is underway in Las Vegas, Nevada. As always is packed full of new electronic gadgets and innovative products that will be coming to a Best Buy near you sometime soon. One of the biggest announcements has come from OCOSMOS that has developed the Intel Atom Processor that will bring PC power to handhelds.

Based on Windows 7, the new processor, code named Oak Trail, has shown itself more than up to the task of running some of today's most processor stretching software, including MMOs. The OCS1 TC has also shown itself adept at running Facebook gaming applications, as well as productivity software.

OCOSMOS OCS1 TC will be available in the US in the first half of 2011 with a later release date for Korea and other areas.

The OCS1 specifications include:

  • Intel Oak Trail platform
  • Up to 64GB of solid-state storage
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • 5.0-Inch TFT Capacitive Multi-touch screen
  • 1024 x 600 pixel resolution capacitive touch screen
  • Front and rear cameras (1.3MP Webcam in front , 3.1MP camera in back)
  • A microphone for video chat sessions
  • Windows 7 OS
  • OMOS Key Interface: useful as a mouse, and customizable for character input
  • 1GB of RAM installed, upgradable to 2GB
  • Right/Left keys on the device shoulder for gaming
  • microSD Memory Card Expansion Slots
  • Gyroscope/Accelerometer
