Inkbound Will Get its Next Major Update, With New Content, and New Season on August 23rd

August 23rd, Shiny Shoe’s online RPG Inkbound is getting its next major update. Expect new content, a new Leveling Pass (season pass), and more new features for the early access title.

With the update, the team will add new quests, a new Book, and even a new Aspect. Aspects are Inkbound’s version of classes, so you'll be able to play in an all new way once the new update is available. The new Book and new quests will give you even more ways to spend your time.

The update will add something called trinkets, and while there isn't much info on them yet, they do introduce the update details this way: “Define your play style with TRINKETS”.

So while we don't know how the system will work, trinkets seem to be another customization option to tune your playstyle and make it yours. Speaking of making the experience yours, there will also be new cosmetics released with the update.

If you are looking to make your mark, competitive leaderboards for the daily challenges are also on the way. The new Leveling Pass, which is the new name for the season pass, will open up the new season with a whole bunch of rewards. I like some other games, you will still be able to access the first pass, except that you won't be able to earn rewards. So you'll still be able to complete it, but there's a huge incentive to do so before the new update arrives.

We can expect more details on this update in the coming weeks, since there are several new features coming and options. One of the big ones revealed in the announcement is the ability to save multiplayer runs. You've probably seen plenty of memes about being unable to pause an online game, but you will be able to save multiplayer runs. If you have to step away for a moment and leave your party, you will be able to save.

For more, see the announcement here.
