Inkbound is about to have a busy October. Developer Shiny Shoe has a brand new roadmap update with new goals, details on what they're working on, and the date for the next major update, October 27th.

This next major update will be packed, and it follows a significant update in late September. The team will add two new Aspects to offer additional playstyle and build options. New vestige set bonuses will open the opportunity to get even more new powers through completing vestige sets. Additionally, even more customization and playstyle options will be on the way with trinket updates that will let you unlock and equip new starting powers.

In addition to new content, the update will also feature a number of reworks and improvements. An updated ranking system is on the way, with new challenges and improved balance. Balance overall throughout Inkbound will also get some tuning, Is especially important if you are adding new build opportunities and new customization. Also in line for improvements are sea breaches, which the team promises will offer “bigger and more exciting choices”.

Expect boss reworks too, with adjustments to mechanics. In the roadmap, they call this “more mechanics, fewer big smashes”, so it sounds like they’re planning for a smoother overall experience. More Daily Challenge Mutators are on the way too, with more chances to compete and to show off your achievements. Speaking of achievements, the team is also adding Steam achievements.

All of that is coming in the October 27th update, but they're also giving us a glimpse into the future. On the way to the 1.0 launch we will see more Aspects,  more earnable cosmetics, Vestige lore unlocks, a brand new villain, and stat tracking. The team is also planning to add controller support and full Steam Deck support, more accessibility options, and to localize the game into more languages. On top of this is the full narrative story, with more secrets to unravel.

After that, 1.0.
