Indie studio Devsland Soft aims to launch its open-world MMORPG, Clash of Adventurers, on Steam as a free-to-play title by the end of 2025. This ambitious timeline comes after the game has been in serious development since 2023. Given the game's current stage and team size of just four developers, an end-of-2025 release may realistically result in a very preliminary early access version.
Originally prototyped in 2022 as 'Reign of Elements' by founders Alan Verbilo and Federico Hansson, the project evolved into Clash of Adventurers following Devsland Soft's formation in July 2023. Initially the team intended to release the game in early 2025, but it appears the team has already adjusted that expectation with a late year release noted on Steam. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game expects players to explore the fantasy world of Lumeria, combating elemental threats and teaming up with others to complete quests and battle fierce creatures. They plan for challenging PvE, competitive PvP, and a host of role-specific classes, requiring players to choose an archetype to play within a group.
Notably, Devsland Soft openly acknowledges employing AI tools during development, particularly for creating and enhancing visual UI assets, although they insist refinement by their in-house artists is part of the process. While the team regularly posts videos somewhat consistently, testing is not currently available as it's clear Clash of Adventurer's has a long way to go to hit their lofty launch goals.
