MapleStory has temporarily disabled its Steam Community Market (Beta) feature just one week after its launch due to technical issues affecting players. According to a recent Steam announcement, the problem involved items disappearing when players attempted to register them to the Steam Inventory interface.
If you're a fan of Maplestory then you probably caught our article last week informing Steam players that they'll be able to register and trade cosmetic items via the Steam Marketplace. Unfortunately, in short order this new feature has already caused players to lose their cosmetic items they've attempted to register. In response, Nexon has halted new registrations to the Steam Inventory UI and suspended the sale of Oswell's Scissors of Karma effective immediately, pending a fix scheduled for next week's maintenance.
Players whose items went missing due to this issue have been assured that their items will be restored once the problem is resolved. Meanwhile, items already listed in the Steam Inventory will continue functioning normally, remaining accessible and tradable through the Steam Community Market, or removed entirely at the player's discretion.
If you've been playing Maplestory for more than a decade and wanted to make some moves with your earned or purchased cosmetics, it looks like you'll have to wait a bit longer until all of the bugs are worked out.
