Lost Ark’s next update, “Darkness Unleashed” is bringing Thaemine into Arkesia in full force tomorrow, with the new Legion Raid, new gear progression system, Transcendence, the Veskal Guardian Raid, and more.
The team staggered out the releases leading up to this point, in order to give everyone a fair chance to prepare for Thaemine’s arrival. Downtime is set to begin at 2:00 a.m. PT for about four hours. After this, the update will be ready to go, and those with interest in competing for Thaemine the First rewards can begin to imagine what a victory might feel like.
Of course, the heart of the update is the Thaemine, Legion Commander of Darkness, Legion Raid. Thaemine has summoned his fortress, the Dark Baratron, against the collective efforts of forces united in an attempt to fight the demons and prevent Thaemine’s rise. Well, now that his fortress is back, he has hidden himself deep inside it, and the commander on his Throne of Despair is already having an impact on Arkesia. To go along with the raid and Thaemine’s arrival, there are 34 new achievements and 10 new titles.
In other words, this is a massive and important battle ahead. Darkness is already beginning to settle in and it's up to you to track him into the fortress and confront him. If you have item level 1610 on Normal or 1630 for Hard, of course.
This is an 8-player Legion Raid, complete with new cinematics and new scenes, along with new music debuting just for this raid. If you normally have the option to skip dungeon cutscenes in order to get things started faster, you might want to turn that setting off to face Thaemine. Normal features three gates and Hard features four gates. You will have to clear Gate 3 on Hard in order to challenge the fourth gate. Once you clear it for the first time, you will be able to go from Normal Gate 3 to Hard Gate 4. Gate 4 is that big challenge, and this will reset at two week intervals. As a special bonus, you will only be able to use selfie mode in Gate 4 if that's an extra motivator.
Transcendence is also coming as a new gear improvement system. Using materials you get from the Thaemine Legion Raid, You will be able to improve your gear and add special bonuses and effects.
If the Legion Raid wasn't enough of a challenge for you, there's also a new 1630 Guardian Raid: Veskal. There's much more on this raid in the full notes, as well as everything else coming in this major update, from balance changes to new cosmetics.
