Despite the surprise launch of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, it seems Bethesda has once again taken Steam by storm, swiftly amassing a huge following as players flock to the popular open world RPG that captivated players nearly a decade ago.
Before Skyrim was a thing, Oblivion enthralled the masses as the long awaited sequel to Morrowind. It seems like the launch of the remaster has sparked a return of players vying for the chance to kill more Daedra and saving Cyrodil from the perils of Oblivion.

Steam has since shown some encouraging numbers with nearly 200,000 concurrent players hopping in to play this week. Bethesda has also stated that there are over 4 million total players. This remarkable resurgence isn't particularly shocking, given the enduring legacy of the original.
The remaster has added a new stunning visual overhaul and some refined gameplay mechanics to ensure that players have all of the modern comforts packed into a beloved classic that they'll no doubt spend dozens if not hundreds of hours in.
As for player reception, Oblivion Remastered has garnered more than 25,000 reviews on Steam, with over 80% leaning positively. Clearly, Oblivion's timeless charm, coupled with modern upgrades, has successfully captured the imagination and devotion of gamers yet once again.
