If you’re a member of the unofficial Guild Wars 2 Discord channel, you may want to keep your eyes out for folks impersonating moderators and admins.
The message was posted in the #announcements channel in the Discord and brings the warning,
“Heads up! There are currently users impersonating moderators and administrators of this discord and other Guild Wars 2 discords. They will try and get you to trade high end items/gems or buy currency for them. Please be careful out there and if you receive any strange DMs from someone who appears to be a moderator or admin, please ping the mods or, even better, send a DM to a mod who is listed at the top of the server member list to have them removed.”
The post continues, reminding members that any actual moderator or admin has that role listed in their profile, in addition to instructions on where to report,
“All administrators and moderators have their roles in their profile. Be careful out there and always check who you're dealing with.
If you want to report the DMs to Discord directly, read here on how to do that: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000291932”
In recent news, the End of Dragons Expansion was announced recently, set to release in 2021. You can catch up on all those details right here.
