Posted Sep 30, 2004 by Reed Hubbard

Icarus/Platinum Strike Dev Deal

Icarus Studios, developer of Fallen Earth, and comic publisher Platinum have negotiated a deal to jointly develop several massively multiplayer titles based on Platinum's comic library.  The first two titles slated for development are Atlantis Rising and Blood Nation.

In Platinum Studios' upcoming comic book "Atlantis Rising," an underwater kingdom and the surface world come to the brink of war with the fate of both civilizations hanging in the balance. "Blood Nation" tells the tale of a team of commandos that must infiltrate a nation populated entirely by vampires. Rosenberg adds, "Icarus is the only company I can see doing this with. Their storytelling ability and amazing graphics and technology will translate the themes of these books beautifully into the world of the multi-user online gamesentertainment."

The Hollywood Reporter has more information on the Atlantis Rising deal, including plans to make it into a movie.  More on these titles as they develop.
