Humankind is getting a console release, and preorders are now open. Amplitude Studios announced that the turn-based strategy game would be headed to Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The console release across all these platforms is coming in November 4th.
In a press release announcing the console versions, Amplitude Studios welcomed the opportunity to bring the well-received game to a wider audience. Development on the console ports is happening under Aspyr Studios. “With our history in this space, we know that we'll be able to deliver a deep strategy experience that really shines on consoles,” Aspyr’s Senior Director of Business Development, Michael Blair, said in the release.
The PC edition of the game also gets new DLC out today. Cultures of Latin America brings some new options to Humankind with this DLC pack, which is out for $8.99. There are six new cultures included: Caralans, Nazca, Taíno, Inca, Argentinians, and Cubans. The DLC also includes 6 New Wonders, 9 independent people's, 15 new narrative events, and of course over 30 new in game musical tracks themed to the cultures and composed by Arnaud Roy.
There's also a new major game update releasing today known as the Bolivar patch. This update reworks the surrender system, introduces rebalanced war support modifiers, add previews to infrastructure yield, some unique Wonder events, and more.
