Neverness to Everness is a new supernatural urban open-world RPG from Hotta Studio, the developer behind Tower of Fantasy. The new game was announced with a trailer and gameplay preview video to introduce this world of Hethereau, where supernatural anomalies and humans share space.
The fast-paced, colorful trailer gives a look at the world, the supernatural presence all around, and some of the characters. There's also a brand new gameplay video which gives an overall look at exploring the town, going in and out of buildings, combat, and doing things like customizing your car. There's also a number of simulation type activities like running a business and decorating a home on offer.
Perfect World will handle publishing and is aiming for a September launch.
When it comes to combat, if you watch the released gameplay video you'll notice that there are those supernatural anomalies around. You also have what they call Esper abilities to unleash against the interest and unexpected anomalies that you'll encounter all over this world. These anomalies are all over and there are a number of colorful and weird things you'll encounter. In the official description from Perfect World, they say that some of these anomalies could include “skateboards covered in graffiti running amok at midnight or an otter with a television head”.
You're not the only one with Esper abilities and so you'll be able to meet other characters and make friends with others who have different abilities and team up to solve problems or explore. Hotta Studio is developing Neverness to Everness in Unreal Engine 5, and promises that they’ll emphasize things to do in the urban landscape to offer realism and lots to do.
The free-to-play game is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Pre-registration is open now over on the official site.
