It looks like Horizon Forbidden West is “aiming to release” in 2021, according to a new dev video.

The video features Game Director Mathijs de Jonge as he discusses some details around Horizon Forbidden West. Specifically, he calls out how the game will utilize the PS5, citing the SSD to virtually eliminate loading when fast traveling or when loading from a checkpoint.

The title itself refers to the frontier stretching from Utah to the Pacific. This new land plays host to a new red corruption, tainting the land. New valleys, deserts, and ruined cities await us. To that end, the map is actually a bit bigger, as it also includes underwater locations.

New machines are also included, as indicated by the reveal trailer from the PS5 event last week. New tribes are included as well, including both friendly and hostile tribes. Additionally, a collapsing biosphere leads to the red blight and supercell storms. Mathijs ends the video by confirming that the team is aiming to release the game in 2021.

You can check out the full details in the video below. As a reminder, Horizon Zero Dawn is confirmed to release on PC this summer.
