HoYoverse have deployed Honkai: Star Rail’s version 2.1 update, which is now live on mobile, PC, and, PlayStation 4 and 5.
The free update, which is titled “Into the Yawning Chasm” adds fan-favorite characters such as 5-star Acheron and new characters in 5-star Aventurine and 4-star Gallagher. Previously released 5-star characters, Luocha and Jingliu, have returned as well.
The update also includes new content continuing Penacony’s mysterious story with the Trailblaze Mission “Penacony – The Devil in Velvet,” and events celebrating the game’s first year anniversary.
Players can earn Stellar Jades and other exclusive rewards as part of the anniversary festivities and events. HoYoverse is also hosting in-person events in Los Angeles, Paris, and Berlin.
Update 2.1 releases hot on the heels of version 2.0, which was a massive update that took players to the world of Penacony and dropped back in February. We called it the game’s best update yet in our preview.. That update also included new story content, three new playable characters, a number of quality-of-life improvements, a variety of puzzles and mini-games, and a host of limited time events.
