Honkai: Star Rail 3.1, "Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne," arrives February 26th, with a new story chapter in the Flame-Chase Journey, new playable characters, new maps, events and more.
The Flame-Chase Journey is not letting up even after the events of the previous chapter because this is ultimately a race against time. When 3.1 arrives, prepare to be a messenger along with your companions. A new map called Grove of Epiphany, introduces a city-state that gives it its name and has a reputation for knowledge, enlightenment, and progress. The city state itself honors Cerces, the Reason Titan, and has Served as a sanctuary for knowledge Seekers. The black tide, however, has recently taken over and is looking to claim Cerces’ Coreflame. Help will be needed to help uncover truth, reclaim the Coreflame, and work to help restore help.
In the main story update, you’ll have to use Oronyx to “awaken echoes of the past” and arrive on another new map, where the Abyss of Fate, formerly Janusopolis, is in its Day State. This journey will introduce one of the two new playable characters, and one that serves as a guide in the Flame-Chase Journey.
Tribbie, The Holy Maiden of Janusopolis, is a 5-star Quantum character following the Path of Harmony. She provides support to her team buffing them, and deploying a special zone where enemies will take more damage. She also deals extra damage to the enemy with the highest HP in the zone and she can trigger frequent follow-up attacks to help the team take control of battles and enhance their damage and combat potential.
The second playable character is called Mydei, the Crown Prince of Castrum Kremnos and a warrior who is a 5-star Imaginary character following the Path of Destruction. He has extra max HP and uses HP based strength to deal and increase damage. His skills let him sacrifice some HP to charge up and put him in an enhanced state. When he's in it, he'll automatically attack on his turn and do great amounts of damage.
With 3.1, we’ll also see Divergent Universe in Honkai: Star Rail, bringing a new research topic centered on Amphoreus. Battles will use a day and night system with combat alternating between the two states. day and night each offer unique boosts and additional effects when they transition from one to the other. There are more events, returning characters, and more to check out on February 26th.
