"Paean of Era Nova”, Honkai: Star Rail version 3.0, Is set to release on January 15th. HoYoverse has revealed details on what we can expect, including new maps and playable characters, and the start of the game’s biggest story arc to date.
The Astral Express will leave the Planet of Festivities and move forward towards Amphoreus. Amphoreus looks like a chaotic vortex and the inhabitants don’t have knowledge of some things others take for granted. They don’t know Aeons, and they worship Titans that they believe created Amphoreus. These people also believe in gods and miracles as facts of life. Nearly all of the Titans have fallen to “the black tide” ini war with the gods, with one still left to protect humanity. As the Astral Express arrives, the start of a massive series of story updates begins.
The Trailblaze Mission will be released in two parts over eight updates, from 3.0 to 3.7. This is Honkai: Star Rail’s largest story arc and an ambitious one. First, in 3.0, we'll get a new region, The Abyss of Fate, a place stuck in an eternal night where legend says the Titans created Amphorerus and determined the fate of creation itself. If you can't tell, there are a lot of very big pieces on the board being assembled here, and it will be up to players to discover what's going on, how those pieces fit, and to see what can still be saved.
Along the way, there are new playable characters, new locations to visit, including new city-states with distinct features, and a chance to investigate what the Titans left behind and what the war has caused. There are a few surprises waiting too, including The Hand of Zagreus, A mechanism that you can use to lift heavy things, smash pathways, and even take down some enemies, all useful when you explore these ruins. Additionally, Mem is a mysterious new companion. We don't know their actual name but they keep saying Mem, so that's what we call them. This is a support summon that can be crucial in combat.
Of course there are new playable characters to add to your roster. The Herta is a Five-Star master of AoE damage. As an ice-type Erudition character, She has some crowd control in combat and can enhance allies' attacks. Aglaea, a Five-Star limited Remembrance character, By day she's a dressmaster and a hero of Amphoreus. She fights alongside her summon, the memosprite, Garmentmaker, as a distinctly graceful mix of strategy and elegance.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 will also see new and returning characters, new outfits, events, and much more. HoYoverse iis kicking off the year in a big way for those onboard the Astral Express.
