Hi-Rez Studios is sunsetting support for SMITE on Nintendo Switch, with official support ending on May 1st. It's already been removed from the Nintendo eShop.
In a post to the SMITE website, the team at Hi-Rez Studios announced the closure, though stressed that support for Xbox, PlayStation and PC will remain uninterrupted.
"After lots of discussions, thought, and conversations across our team, we’ve made the difficult decision to end support on Nintendo Switch for SMITE, with our final date of support being May 1, 2025. For our communities on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, we will continue to provide full support for these platforms. We appreciate your continued support and understanding."
As a result, SMITE has been removed from the Nintendo eShop, with SMITE Nintendo Switch players urged to utilize the MOBA's cross-progression to keep progress they've made on the Nintendo Switch version across other platforms. The game's developer says that this decision was made to "prove players on other platforms better support," admitting that the "performance" of the Nintendo Switch port was "not up to our standards."
This move comes just a few weeks removed from SMITE's sequel, SMITE 2 , hitting free-to-play across all platforms, bringing new gods to its roster, as well as new maps and new game modes.
