Hetherington Involved in MyWorld Purchase

According to an investigative report at The Courier, former Realtime Worlds chairman and chief strategy officer Ian Hetherington has supplied at least a portion of the funds to purchase MyWorld, one of two projects being developed by RTW at the time of its demise. The majority portion of the money provided to purchase MyWorld has been put up by an anonymous US company. The name of the buyer has yet to be revealed due to a confidentiality agreement.

Internet rumours have been circling that Mr Hetherington and Realtime founder Dave Jones were behind the takeover of MyWorld but The Courier understands Mr Jones is not part of the company orchestrating the buyout.

Last night Realtime's administrators Begbies Traynor refused to say one way or another whether Mr Hetherington was involved in buying MyWorld.

Joint administrator Paul Dounis said, "All I can say is that the business has been sold, I can't confirm to who."
