Star Wars: The Old Republic update 7.6.1 is likely coming in March. Today, the team revealed an overview of the new content, including customization options, Galactic Season 8, and what's ahead in character visual updates.
The patch will not feature any new major content, so we’ll have to wait for that. Galactic Season 8, “Rising Powers” is coming, and will guide us back into taking on Uprisings objectives. When the season opens, all players will have access to Uprisings at level 10. Kai Zykken will offer the chance to try Czera’s Experimental Combat Enhancers.
When you do, you'll get one of three buffs to help you complete your objectives. One is a strong AoE attack, another will send in drones to help you defeat enemies, and the third makes every fifth enemy you defeat explode for AoE damage. Choosing to use the experimental enhancers could backfire and give your enemies a buff, so taking the risk has some potential consequences.
Complete objectives for rewards on the free and the subscriber tracks that include new titles, new Legacy titles, and Stronghold labels. Among the reward tracks will be some new hairstyle options, Senator’s Consort, and Regal Senator’s styles, inspired by the Disney+ Star Wars TV show Andor, which returns for a new season in April.
The team also showed off expanded customization for the Basilisk Prototype. There are four new variants on the way that you can earn. Also coming are B3-S1 training modules for Dynamic Encounters on both Hoth and Tatooine.
The Cartel Market will be getting some new cosmetics, including a new Star Wars: Skeleton Crew-inspired outfit. The Cartel Market will retire some items over time, putting them on sale before they're gone forever. Sale tab categories will rotate bi-weekly and the first category sale is weapons.
The SWTOR team continues with modernization and visual updates, detailing some of what they’re working on to come after 7.6. Priorities include updating textures, improved character lighting to make gameplay more similar to cutscenes, and “additional species”.
More details on all of this will be on the way, and we can expect a PTS announcement soon.
