If you're a Dungeons & Dragons Online player with some time on your hands this evening, Standing Stone Games is holding a stress test for the planned 64-bit server.
The test is set for tonight from 7:00 to 10:00 pm Eastern, and will be open to all who want to help the team to polish things up. While the actual 64-bit Cormyr server, When it launches, will be a VIP only server, but for now it's stress tests and previews, they're opening it up to everyone, including free and premium players, in order to get the data they need to make sure that they release a stable server with sufficient capacity.
If you decide to participate, you can find the DDO Developers in Smuggler’s Rest during the testing hours this evening. The test will be focused within Smuggler’s Rest (Crystal Cove will also be active during the test). The devs will spawn various creatures in addition to all the normal pirates you would expect there, so come prepared to fight and test out whatever build and gear you want. If you want to copy your live game character over, character copy opens up this morning at 11:00 a.m. eastern, and you can also try things out in the test dojo.
The DDO team is also specifically calling for Raiders to come join the test and especially to try to raid on the server. You can also try the new Myth Drannor raid in the Test Dojo. One of the special perks for joining the stress test this evening, is the ability to participate in a new event, Lanterns in the Mists. This is a server-specific event that we will hear more about soon.
