After months of teasing, the Illuminate have finally arrived in a new Helldivers 2 update live right now. Called Omens of Tyranny, this major content update brings the zombie-like enemies far too close to Super Earth for comfort.
The Illuminate have been alluded to for quite some time now vaguely, including on the in-game map, as holdovers from the first game that hadn’t quite made it into this “sequel” yet. Now, as of this brand-new update, they’re the newest threat to Super Earth and its stellar Managed Democracy systems.
These new creatures are, of course, plenty in number, as the wretched bugs and robots are, and so it’s up to the Helldivers to give up their lives for the cause.
With the propaganda announcement trailer done, recruits can now dive into the fray to take on the Illuminate, as the Omens of Tyranny update has gone live. There’ll likely be other changes with this update, as Arrowhead often does, though no full details are out at the time of writing.
